The vast majority of our used bikes for sale have been donated to us and lovingly restored. They are not just tuned up but often fully overhauled from end to end with a combination of new and used parts.  We try to keep as many original components on the bike as possible if they are in good condition, in order to promote reuse, reduction of waste and to keep prices affordable.

The price for each bike is determined from the cost of any new components, how long it takes to recondition and the quality of the finished product.  The proceeds go to cover the costs of running our non-profit shop and the outreach activities we are involved in.  Purchasing a bicycle from Hub City Cycles means that your money is going towards ensuring the accessibility of cycling for all.

Electric Bikes

Hub City Cycles has been selling electric bikes and ebike conversion kits since 2014! We have a variety of bikes and conversion options. If you are interested in adding some battery power to your bike, bring it in to the shop for a free consultation. Prices start around $1500 but will depend on the kind of system you get, battery capacity, extra options and also what the bike can accommodate.

Warranty

All used bikes come with a 30 day warranty for parts and performance.  This covers tuning new cables when they stretch with use, defective parts, making adjustments for proper fit, and any mechanical problems we may have overlooked.

Project 529 Garage

Heard of Project 529 Garage? We recommend registering your bike with this program for free. 

Project 529 is a anti-theft strategy that combines tamper-resistant decals with a social-media based app that helps you A) record the identifying serial number and photos of your bike and B) alert the police and general area if your bike gets stolen.  The RCMP are big supporters of this system!
